Non-retarding fluid loss additive SM-1 is a non-retarding synthetic copolymer designed to control the loss of fluid from the slurry in porous environments.

APPLICATION and ADVANTAGE
It is a non-retarding synthetic copolymer designed to control the loss of fluid from the slurry in porous environments.
It is ideally suited for squeeze cementing particularly in coil tubing due to its non-gellation properties. In primary cementing, it functions as a gas migration control additive because of its non-gellation characteristics.
It provides exceptional filtrate control when used with retarders at bottom hole circulating temperatures up to 350F.
SM-1 may be used for fluid loss control in any API class of cement (A,C,G, or H). It may be used with other cement additives such as retarders, dispersants, silica flour, defoamers and weighting materials. It is not recommended for used in slurries with salt concentration of 18% or greater.

SM-1 also has the following features:
• Excellent fluid-loss control with very low concentrations of additive;
• Good salt tolerance makes it effective for a variety of cement compositions;
• Protects water-sensitive shale sections that may weaken and break down because of cement filtrate;
• Reduces the amount of filtrate that can penetrate formations containing bentonite clays;

PACKAGE and STORAGE
50lb net per multi-wall kraft paper sack.
Store in a dry, well-ventilated area. Keep the package closed. Follow safe warehousing practices regarding palletizing, banding, shrink-wrapping and/or stacking.
